He is the founder of Celavista Mitobiogénesis and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences (Biotechnology-Microbiology, and Biochemistry) and a PhD in Science (Biomedicine and Clinical Research) from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
Specialist in clinical analysis (Ministry of Health) and public health (UPV/EHU Faculty of Medicine). Pioneer in lipidomics and expert in rare and neurodegenerative diseases.
He has been a professor at the University of the Basque Country, the University of Barcelona and the Complutense University of Madrid. He has been published more than 60 times, along with giving presentations at conferences and having international patents with hundreds of innovations in physical process engineering, clinical, biomedical and food applications. He created the first and largest archive of retinitis pigmentosa patients in Spain, obtaining awards and research mentions from the Basque Fund for Research on Retinitis Pigmentosa.
